Petite, but perfectly formed, this pied-à-terre combined a small footprint filled with beautiful architectural detailing. We reconfigured the space, moving the kitchen and bathrooms, to achieve the functionality that the client required. The atmosphere is soft & serene, using neutral tones, and as a point of contrast, creating a dark dramatic entrance hall and kitchen. Considered lighting design, such as the porcelain chandelier in the bay window, help to zone the space – essential in a compact, open-plan apartment. And the exotic Zebrano timber used for the kitchen units, with soft bronze handles, is designed to look more like an exquisite piece of joinery, rather than a kitchen. Furnished with pieces from across the decades, ebonized empire style dining chairs, mid-century lighting to contemporary Italian sofas. The mix feels relaxed but interesting and gives this small home great personality.
